Could Not Establish Protocol #1
One of the files related to the Dial-Up Networking configuration may have been corrupted. Delete and re-install the configuration:


  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
  3. Delete the connection in question.
  4. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
  5. Under Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type sitestar.net
  6. Click the Configure button.
  7. Select the appropriate port speed for your modem. If you have a 56K modem, select 115200, otherwise use 57600.
  8. Make sure that Only Connect At This Speed is not checked.
  9. Click the OK button.
  10. Click the Next button.
  11. In the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your local Sitestar access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is indeed a local toll-free call.
  12. Click the Next button.
  13. Click the Finish button.
  14. Right-click the sitestar.net icon.
  15. From the menu that appears, choose Properties.
  16. Click the Server Type button.
  17. Uncheck Log On To Network.
  18. Enable Software Compression should be checked.
  19. Uncheck NetBEUI.
  20. Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
  21. TCP/IP should be checked.
  22. Click the TCP/IP Settings button.
  23. Select Specify Name Server Addresses.
  24. Enter 205.160.234.1 for the Primary DNS and 205.160.234.10 for the Secondary DNS server.
  25. Click the OK button.
  26. Click the OK button again.
  27. You have now reinstalled the Dial-Up Networking connection.
