Password Errors
  1. From Apple Menu Items point to Control Panels and select the Apple Remote Access control panel.
  2. In the Name text box, type your dial-up username.
  3. In the Password text box, type your password.
  4. In the Number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  5. Click the Connect button.
  6. If you are still getting Authentication errors:
  7. Double-click the Hard Drive icon.
  8. Double-click the System Folder icon.
  9. Double-click the Preferences Folder icon.
  10. Find the Remote Access folder and drag it into the trash.
  11. From the menu bar, click Special and select Restart.
  12. Once you have restarted, from Apple Menu Items point to Control Panels and select the Apple Remote Access control panel.
  13. In the Name text box, type your dial-up username.
  14. In the Password text box, type your password.
  15. In the Number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  16. Click the Connect button.
