Changing Your Access Number

Windows XP
  1. Open Internet Explorer browser
  2. Select "Tools" from the top menu bar, then "Internet Options"
  3. Select the "Connections" tab
  4. Click on the "Default" Dial-up Connection and then click "Settings"
  5. Click on the "Properties" button
  6. Edit the telephone number in the "Phone Number" edit box, then click OK
  7. Click OK again
  8. Click OK once again
Windows 95/98
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon.
  3. Click once on the connection icon you wish to change, and from the File menu, choose Properties.
  4. In the Phone Number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  5. Click the OK button.
Windows 3.1
  1. Double-click the Sitestar.net icon.
  2. Click on the Properties button.
  3. In the Phone Number text box on the General tab, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  4. Click the OK button.
iMac
  1. From the Apple menu point to Control Panels and select Remote Access.
  2. Click the triangle next to Setup.
  3. In the Number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  4. Close the PPP window.
  5. Click the Save button.
Macintosh - FreePPP 1.1a4
  1. From the Apple menu items select Control Panels
  2. Double-click the Config FreePPP icon.
  3. Click the triangle below the telephone icon.
  4. Click the Edit button
  5. Click the Account tab.
  6. In the Phone Number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  7. Click the OK button to accept the changes.
  8. Close the FreePPP window.
Macintosh - FreePPP 2.5
  1. Click the Apple menu and point to Control Panels.
  2. Point to FreePPP Setup and release the mouse button.
  3. Click the arrow below the telephone icon.
  4. Click the Accounts tab.
  5. Click the name of your account.
  6. Click the Edit button.
  7. In the Phone number text box, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  8. Click the OK button to accept the changes.
  9. At the FreePPP Setup window, click the Close button.
Macintosh - Config PPP
  1. From the menu bar, click the Apple icon and select Control Panels.
  2. Click the ConfigPPP control panel.
  3. Click the Config button.
  4. In the Phone num text box, type type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  5. Click the Done button to accept the changes.
  6. At the Config PPP window, click the Close button.
